THE DIDG JAM OF THE NEW MILLENIUM

COINCIDING WITH THE OLYMPIC GAMES & THE EQUINOX

23rd Sept '2000

The whole world will be attuned to Australia and the Olympic Games in the year 2000 and the sound of the Didgeridoo will be heard on every T.V. around the globe. In each capital city around the globe large groups will gather to play didg  as part of " Didgin Around the Globe", and will appear on many   cities evening news.Giving thanks to the indigenous aboriginals of Australia for sharing their instrument. Such a large proportion of the worlds population will be touched by the gatherings of players linking up around the world. The didg’s natural ability to stir soulful feelings will make this a monumental event helping to raise the earth's vibration at a crucial turning point in humanity’s history. The beginning of a new Millenium and the celebration of Olympic Spirit in a country that by its strong indigenous and multicultural roots represents the hopes of a peaceful and harmonious world.

Lets send strength and support to the Australian Aboriginal people and our prayers that true reconciliation between indigenous and the dominant western culture will be realized.

This equinox aside from being in the beginning phase of a new Millenium it also coincides with the celebration of Olympic Spirit in a country that by its strong indigenous and multicultural roots represents the hopes of a peaceful and harmonious world. This a powerfull time to gather and help raise the earth's vibration through our group focus and intent. We each through our individual and group actions support this crucial turning point in humanity’s history.

In essence we are all indigenous to the earth .
We are all custodians of the land we live upon.
Lets receive the learnings of cultures who live/d in harmony.
Lets integrate it into our modern culture.

If weather is fine, around a fire, otherwise in hall. Bring rug /cushion warm clothing,instruments. If children coming along ,please check that they will be respectfull of the focus for the eve .
6 pm (if you’d like to share in a meal- bring picnic dinner to eat and /or share)
7.pm- onwards music .
8.30pm -Equinox sharing and ritual

As to a suggested approach and perhaps what our group will be doing ; the following may help.

 

The evening will begin with time for sharing music or any sound celebration (any/all instruments ,chanting, shared song)

Then at a time set or appropriate we'll gather in a circle and perhaps use a tone from one didg ( overtone ) to bring the focus together, then open up the circle to anyone that wants to share, their hopes and desires for the land, our area, our country, for our planet, perhaps a sharing about or a prayer for indigenous peoples and or ideas, inspirations on a practical level.

When everyone that wants to speak has spoken then via one person we'll offer a group intent or prayer offering to unite all sharings and focus the circle( which may include acknowledgment of linking up with all the other folk around the globe). Then the didgs will come in and travel with our sharings and enpower them. It may be offered that anyone that doesn't play didg , may like to tone or omm along or after awhile as they desire.

After the didging ,more sharing,music ,dancin, whatever.
